During your evaluation, the physiotherapist will analyze all the movements involving the problematic joint and the surrounding joints.
They will assess whether there is a lack of mobility and if it is due to joint stiffness. In this case, the therapist will perform mobility techniques on the joints to regain mobility. This is called manual therapy. It is done gently, with precision, and while respecting your pain.
The goal is to restore optimal joint mobility, reduce pain associated with stiffness, and regain function. An exercise is often prescribed following mobilizations to maintain the acquired mobility. Manual therapy is a personalized and specific approach for each patient to help them achieve their goals.
