Valeria Batista is a physiotherapist with extensive experience in general client care, with particular expertise in treating musculoskeletal disorders. She works with private clients as well as with organizations such as SAAQ and CSST to help individuals overcome the effects of conditions such as low back pain, neck pain, epicondylitis, tendinitis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, capsulitis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, sprains, muscle strains, dislocations, subluxations, amputations, and others.
Valeria excels in subjective and objective examination, and identification of primary pathologies. She then develops treatment plans to meet the specific needs of each patient. She is also skilled in caring for patients with ischemia and hemorrhagic stroke.
As a physiotherapist, Valeria applies exercises to improve balance, coordination, proprioception, strength, and conditioning. She also specializes in elderly care, helping improve their physical condition, strength, balance, and range of motion. Additionally, she is well versed in managing patient pain as well as developping home exercise programs.
Valeria holds a degree in physiotherapy from Uni-FMU Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas in São Paulo and has completed the courses recommended by the admissions committee of OPPQ at McGill University to validate her physiotherapy degree in Quebec. She has also pursued additional training, including the McKenzie Method of diagnosis and mechanical therapy, infant torticollis and plagiocephaly, chronic low back pain, and upper and lower limb rehabilitation.
